The hidden, obvious truths...

No world for dreamers

Dreamers are sensitive, yes. Sometimes overly sensitive. To be a dreamer is to accept the life of inner pain, even if nothing painful is happening directly to us. We feel the pain of the world. Injustice, cruelty and greed hurt us, wherever they might be happening. A war in some distant country is a war we feel personally. Suffering on the other side of the planet is our suffering.

Most “rational” people think dreamers are not in touch with the “real world”. They think dreamers live in their fantasy, imaginary, colourful bubble; delusional and unable to function in the “real world” they inhabit.

But no, we don’t live in an imaginary world. We live in a world as it should be. We live in a world we feel deep within us, woven from the threads of reality as we see it and feel it. It’s a world that’s very real to us, a world we know should be everyone’s experience. It might be different from the world the rest of the people live in, but it’s only because they choose to be blind to what could be. The fragments of the world we dream of are scattered everywhere, all over the planet, in every human being, within every rock, tree or cloud; we only need to pick them up and assemble them into the reality we know we could be living.

We don’t hurt because the world is not what we wish it to be. We hurt because we know it can and should be better. It hurts because we feel it in our aching hearts; our bones know it and our fingers can touch it. We hurt because we can’t understand why the rest of the world walks blindfolded, arms free and unrestrained, but alienated from any desire to remove the blindfold. We hurt because it is foreign to us why most people rather spend their energy, money and time in convincing themselves that things can’t be more than they are when for us it’s clear and tangible how easily they could be. We hurt because we choose to leave our hearts open, bruised and sensitive as they are. There is no other way to manifest the change we know is within our grasp.

There is no world for dreamers. There is no world for realists. There is no world for open hearts and those that choose not to feel. There is only one world, with what we make of it. Dreamers see other people’s reality for what it is, only a surface tension of an underlying beauty underneath. It doesn’t take much to break it and allow it to flood the world with its Grace, only more dreamers, more believers, more faith and more people willing to sacrifice some of their comforts for the greater good; more people willing to accept some pain that comes hand in hand with an expanded view of “reality” that includes what-could-be along with what-is.

Dreamers can be soldiers, too. They have the strength, they possess the endurance and resilience, they go through inner wars every day. However, they will not fight for false ideals, and definitely not for power and greed. They will not move a muscle for those who gather wealth and power for their own small-minded purpose. But give them a glimpse of the New World and they will rise up, flood the streets with their power, fight, suffer and die for what they believe in. Only, you can’t fool them easily. They are open inclusive and understanding and forgiving, but they are not blind to the games of Power. They will see right through you if your intentions are not honest and True. So, don’t underestimate the power of dreams and the strength of those who dare to dream, still. You don’t see it yet, but they are the ones changing the world for the better, for everyone. You can’t tell, because all you see is your “reality”, but they will build the world you’re only able to perceive as fantasy. You can’t stop it, you can’t ignore it. The world dreamers see behind their eyelids is a world as it should be, and there are no forces able to keep it hidden forever.
